The Peperomia genus encompasses over 1,000 plant varieties, most of which have small, round, waxy leaves and can be different shades of green, silver, or red. However, leaf shape does vary between species from the typical round shape to narrow pointed leaves. Some varieties of Peperomia can have variegated leaves and different leaf textures. Most species will produce a flower spike that varies in color.
