The Garden Factory is an industry leader in the nursery, lawn & garden business in both retail and wholesale, serving Rochester and surrounding counties in New York State. Opened March 22, 1974 by Robert & Patricia Martell, the company has grown under the ownership of the Martell Family which now includes a second generation.

The Garden Factory is a major supplier of businesses, landscapers and our main focus, the retail customer. We strive to provide only the highest quality in products and services. Our staff is highly dedicated to helping all of our customers to achieve their dreams of indoor and outdoor living spaces. Our Customer Service staff is particularly adept at helping our customers with any and all landscaping questions or problems.

The Garden Factory operates on 36 acres of retail store, nursery and greenhouses. Since 1982, six acres has been dedicated to our production greenhouses where we grow Easter plants, annuals, perennials, hanging baskets, hardy mums and poinsettias for our retail store. Growing our own plants helps us to maintain the quality and health that our customers have come to rely on as well as keep up with the ever growing demand.

The Garden Factory is the largest Garden Center in New York State and the second largest on the East Coast. Rochester consumers have voted The Garden Factory “The Best Garden Center” for five years running in the Rochester area. We have been written up in several national garden magazines and this past year the Garden Center of America Tour visit our facility. We received an award from Home Garden Showplace as “2006 Store of the Year Northeastern Region.” The Garden Factory has been a member of True Value Company since 1979.

The Garden Factory’s key to success is an excellent customer service, a knowledgeable staff, a team of dedicated managers, quality merchandise, loyal customers and owners that have learned that hard work everyday in partnership with their employees helps the business grow and prosper.
